Accuracy of FS RX vs Compact RX

I'd normally think the longer gun would be more accurate, but does it really matter at typical pistol ranges (5-25 yards) if both are RX models? I guess the question is to folks that own or have owned both, where does the sight start to lose out to the barrel length? Sight radius is irrelevant with an RDS, as far as I can tell.

You are correct that sight radius is irrelevant with an RDS. And sight radius does impact accuracy, in that a longer sight radius is easier to accurately line up.

The other area where barrel length matters is recoil. I don't pretend to understand why, but short barrels tend to start recoil while the round is still in the barrel. That raises the barrel from your aim point. As far as I can determine, that doesn't affect left - right windage.

The difference between full size and compact is actually pretty small. With many guns you really don't notice unless you have both guns in a vice. The P320C will shoot almost the same as a P320 Full size using a red dot.

Most shooters will admit that it's harder to shoot a subcompact accurately. A very firm grip helps a lot. Anyone that has shot a .357 Magnum revolver with a 2" barrel knows what I'm talking about.

I hope I have explained it in a way that's easy to grasp.

Never knew that but it makes sense...the shorter-barrel'ed gun is also lighter and will react quicker to the recoil force due to less inertia.

Try pushing a full size car then a compact. Note how much quicker you can accelerate the smaller car.

It depends on the shooters skill level.

I own a Full size Glock 9mm and a subcompact Glock 9mm and I shoot them the same. The sight radius makes no difference to me. I also have a P320rx full size and I had a subcompact P320 for a short time and I shot them about the same if I remember correctly.

As long as your sight alignment is correct and you have good trigger control then sight radius doesn't matter. I will say that I can shoot faster with a full size pistol but we are talking about accuracy and for me sight radius is a non issue.
